How does this work?
3rd Shift Training was developed so customers can ideally run ambient music at night while they sleep and use it as background sound at home or the office. When the mind is at rest and not distracted by the constant bombardment from advertisers, social media, food, drinks, etc. When at rest the mind is in the best position to open itself up to learning and retraining. Our training is designed to support your fitness journey, your changes in diet, and your attention to your overall health by training the mind to make better choices and fight off triggers. In addition to a better diet and better fitness, your participation in 3rd Shift Training will be a force multiplier to the changes you want in the mirror.
Is this supported by science?
The concept of neuroplasticity is covered in many articles, one example is a study published in Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience (2016). If you don't believe what someone is told affects them, why do we tell our children to speak only well of themselves? Self-affirmation theory states that people can maintain self-integrity by reflecting their values through affirmations.
Help with stress?
Positive self-talk through affirmations can reduce cortisol levels; a 2014 study in Behavior Therapy showed that cognitive restructuring through techniques like affirmations reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression by reframing negative beliefs. How many times have you eaten along your new goals, had a bad day, and found yourself at the McDonalds drive-through? Gonna restart tomorrow, are you...probably not...but what if when you felt those pains or triggers, you grabbed a healthy snack and went for a walk? That happens when your brain works a different way.
Goal Setting & Motivation
This entire program is based off the key concept that affirmations enhance motivation by aligning subconscious beliefs with desired outcomes. Studies in The Journal of Experimental Social Psychology indicate that affirmations can increase motivation and adherence to goals, such as exercise or academic achievement, by reinforcing self-efficacy.
